China Tourism Visa — Complete Document Checklist (UK Applicants)

This checklist helps applicants prepare everything needed for a smooth submission.

01. Completed Visa Application Form

02. Passport-Sized Photo (48 x 33 mm)

A recent colour photograph meeting Chinese visa photo requirements:

• Size: 48 x 33 mm

• White background

• No headwear or filters

03. Valid Passport

Your passport must:

• Be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry

• Contain minimum 2 blank visa pages

• Be submitted in original form

04. Previous Passports (Copies or Scans)

Provide copies or scans of all used pages from previous passports:

• Pages with visa stamps

• Pages with travel records

• Pages showing past China visas, if applicable

05. UK Residence Permit

Submit:

• Original and copy of your UK Residence Permit

• Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), if applicable

• Digital immigration status (Home Office share code)

06. Hotel Booking Confirmation

Provide a paid and confirmed hotel reservation including:

• Guest name

• Check-in and check-out dates

• Full address of the accommodation

Printed confirmation required.

07. Travel Itinerary & Transport Documents

Submit full travel details, depending on your mode of transport:

• Flight tickets (round-trip)

• Train or bus reservations

• Travelling by car:

  • Car registration

  • Valid car insurance

  • Ferry or Eurotunnel return tickets

  • Driver’s driving licence

08. Invitation Letter for Tourists (If applicable)

If travelling with an invitation instead of hotel bookings, provide:

• Formal Invitation Letter issued by a Chinese individual or organisation

• Copy of inviter’s Chinese ID (both sides), or

• For non-Chinese residents: passport + residence permit copy

09. Additional Documents for Applicants Under 18

Minors must provide the following:

• Certified translation of birth certificate

• Application form signed by both parents/legal guardian

• Original passports of both parents

• Copies of parents’ passports and UK residence permits

• Birth certificate + English translation

• Custody documents (if parents are divorced)

• Letter of consent signed by both parents

• Confirmation letter from the school
